About Me

Hello my name is Monica Erfe and this is my story...
I was the average kid growing up, I did the whole dance class, music lessons, and soccer. Although I am not a music virtuoso I played the flute and piano. When I turned 13 I bought my first guitar and tried to teach myself that. I guess I did not have the gift so I resorted to supporting the music that I love.
I discovered most of my music through myspace when it was popular and took notice of the various fansites. Heck, I made a few fan sites for my favorite bands and singers; my favorite was my Fall Out Boy myspace page. I read on numbers and numbers of forums and blogs about html and coding on myspace. I got bored of the whole myspace thing so I moved on to bigger and better things. I started making fan sites using hosted domains. I never took any web designing classes, I was so interested I taught myself. My interest of promoting sparked when I started getting thousands of hits on a daily basis. I constantly updated the blog with shows, events, and anything relevant to promote the band. I then began doing press related things such as conducting interviews with the band members. The only reason why I have stopped updating fan site was due to the decline of views during the band's hiatus. I could not afford hosting if I did not have views on my site. My junior year of high school my parents bought me a DSLR camera just for school purposes. I no longer had to bring point and shoot cameras to concerts. I did not obtain press passes too often due to my lack of credentials. Aside from concert photography I like to do portraits as well, but I currently do it as a side job.

For the past couple of summers my friends and I have traveled pretty much most of the Northeast leg of the Warped Tour. It basically became our summer vacation. You really can't beat the experience of traveling with your friends and listening to awesome music. My friends and I made a truce to be part of the tour one day so here we are trying to make our dreams happen. When I first saw the pit blogs conducted by Tiffany Mink I've always told myself that I would have the job one day. Although I know there is quite more going on with the tour than what most people see I am up for experiencing that kind of lifestyle. I might be girly, but I can get down and dirty in schoring heat. I can't wait to share my stories and videos with all the fans. I believe I can fulfill and surpass the duties of the Vans Warped Tour Pit Reporter. I am professional, fun, and friendly (do I get some brownie points?)
